“As we reflect on the significance of this year’s Independence Day celebration where the country’s sovereignty is appreciated, the sacrifices of the national heroes are remembered, instilling the value of nationalism as well as celebrating the culture and tradition of our people, it is also equally important to recognize the various opportunities by which we can rally our communities to work together in the midst of economic uncertainty and ecological catastrophe, which is also an excellent reason to reflect on the resilience and optimism”, said Jovie Calma, 2022 CFO PIDC Public Relations Committee Chair, NaFFAA-AZ Vice Chair and FPACC Vice President Global Communications.
“Now, more than ever, Filipinos in the U.S. most especially here in Arizona, continue to honor Philippine Independence Day, with the younger blood and members of today’s Filipino-American generation cultivating meaningful reasons to celebrate”, said Ihman Esturco, Asian International Film Festival Arizona (AIFFA) Founder and 2022 CFO PIDC Public Relations Committee Co-Chair.
